Geek House Coffee
Ryan’s Thoughts: Although not a bad thing, be forewarned that this coffee is sweet. That sweetness actually makes it perfect as a breakfast blend to go with certain morning foods. I feel it went perfect with my cinnamon rolls, and would also be great with pancakes, waffles, french toast, or anything else that was already in that category. I wouldn’t have it co-star beside, say, anything spicy such as is the way I like my omelets or hashbrowns, but it definitely has its place in the morning rotations. It’s different from what I normally drink and I like that. It’s not a sugar in your face blend, and it doesn’t overpower or overstay its welcome. Adventurer’s Breakfast Blend is a pleasant break from your every day, and I would definitely recommend having some in your repertoire.
Krista’s Thoughts: I’ve had a lot of breakfast blends in my life as they seem to be the “safe” coffee to try when discovering a new brand, giving coffee as a gift, or when serving visitors and you’re unsure what their tastes are. Nearly everyone I know has had one sitting in their kitchen at some point (I currently have 4 different ones…) or sold them in their shops. Many of them have been extremely mild and, for the most part, forgettable once the cup was empty. The Adventurer’s Breakfast Blend from Geek House Coffee, however, actually seems to break free of that pattern while still being a basic blend. It’s still a medium-light roast and far milder than the other flavors that we’ve tried from this brand but is bold when compared to other breakfast blends. I have enjoyed it with a hint of cream, a lot of cream, or straight from the pot — however my mood struck me that day — and it has been delicious every time! Though I do prefer Geek House Coffee’s specialized roasts more, I highly recommend this blend for those who are curious about the brand but don’t want to stray too far from the beaten path of what they know and are comfortable with. If you happen to be feeling more adventurous, however, check out our thoughts on their Arcane Coffee with the shockingly good flavor combination of apples, raisins, and honey!
