Krista’s Thoughts: Raisins and coffee?! At first glance, I was incredibly skeptical about this flavor inclusion, but also really curious. Sure the artwork on the bag and the background story on the website had my attention, but none of that could promise me that this would be a good idea. Upon opening the bag, I could immediately smell the raisins and prepared myself for the worst. The more I drank, however, the more I loved it! While I am usually against fruit flavors in my coffee – blueberry was the only exception before today – I really enjoyed this one! The honey and the Costa Rican beans give this blend its sweetness and smooth finish. and seem to accent this flavor combination. While I don’t think this would be my day-to-day coffee, I can definitely see myself adding this one to my regular rotation or for when I’m in the mood for something different.

Ryan’s Thoughts: Not being the type of person who likes sweet drinks, I had my doubts about this flavoring. I also tend to like my coffee black. I may have had my mind changed today. I did not like this coffee without anything added to it, but the subtle yet noticeable mix of sweet flavorings stood out well once some cream was added to the concoction. The fruits and honey come alive when not fighting against the starkness presented with a black roast. The medium bean helps with this adaptation as well. All in all, this was a great package and a pleasantly different surprise. I’m definitely looking forward to trying some more of what Geek House Coffee has to offer. Their website is engaging and entertaining as well. The coffee itself has quite a bit of character, yet the website adds a sense of tabletop RPG whimsy as it shows off artwork and tells backstories to each blend. This company is definitely worth checking out and I will be recommending this particular flavor to my friends that I know enjoy a milder coffee and dairy.
