Here at The Cardboard Cantina, we select games and other products for review on the basis of what we feel will interest our audience – whether that’s in terms of the quality, content, or theme. This does mean we will occasionally turn down review requests if we feel the product is inappropriate for our audience or is something that we would be unable to give a proper review of (i.e. a game that simply does not mesh with any member of our gaming group).
Our reviews aim to equip you with enough information, analysis, and context to decide whether you will find a product interesting. These reviews will also inform our audience whether or not we liked something and why. As our priority is to our viewers and listeners, The Cardboard Cantina reviews all products with honesty and integrity. Therefore, by sending us your product, you are accepting the risk that there may be a negative response.
All Cardboard Cantina reviewers are expected to spend enough time with a product to understand it fully. As this is not an exact science and the requirements can vary greatly depending on the product, there may be a delay in getting a review out. This situation can also be influenced by the availability of review materials such as updated or missing content. This especially applies to Kickstarters, other crowdfunding campaigns, and scheduled specialty releases (such as conventions). If you are looking to get a Kickstarter preview for a game, we request that you contact us as far in advance as possible as it can take up to several weeks for shipping, playing, and creating a review. Campaigns that have already begun tend not to allow enough time to produce the quality of content that we strive for. We will never publish a review where we are not comfortable with its quality.
