Underdark & Chill: A Perfect Blend From D&Tea For A Drider, Illithid, or Simple Adventurer

Cold, damp air fills the Underdark, there’s a chill that seems to sink right to the bone. You defeated the beholder, but at what cost? You should take a short rest to sip on this restorative brew and regain some hit points, you’re going to need them.

Krista couldn’t resist also picking up a Rogue-themed Rough and Tumbler during the Kickstarter! Now she can make and take her tea with her anywhere she goes!

Krista’s Thoughts: When I came across this tea as part of a Kickstarter campaign, my interests were definitely piqued. With the Underdark being one of my all-time favorite settings to play in, I just knew that Underdark & Chill would have to be one of the tea blends I picked up with my pledge and I certainly was not disappointed! The packaging alone is enough to elate any RPG lover with its d20 style product window and drawing of a map that perfectly shows off some of the subterranean tunnels and caverns that make up the Underdark. The tea itself is excellent with its mouthwatering aromas erupting from the leaves and combining with the flavors of lavender, vanilla, and the familiar bergamot to make this blend a great twist on an old favorite. I absolutely love this take on Earl Grey tea and would highly recommend it for those looking for a new loose-leaf blend to add to their supply!

D&Tea Underdark and Chill makes a great hot tea!
Underdark & Chill is a surprising take on Earl Grey that we both loved!

Ryan’s Thoughts: Earl Grey is a pretty standard blend of tea. It’s a staple because it’s already delicious and well-liked by most tea drinkers. For this reason, I don’t really see anyone mixing it up with the base flavor very often short of maybe vanilla as generally, it’s what you add to the drink after the brewing process to taste. I like what they have done here. They have provided a smooth and well-thought-out adjustment on a classic that really hit the spot. I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. Part of me didn’t want to like it, but I did! The theme is a nice attraction as well, and I have to give credit to the tumbler they produce. Being able to strain your tea by simply pouring hot water over the loose leaves directly into a thermos is genius! If you don’t have the tumbler you can still use any other strainer you may have, of course, but I’m a fan of this design. I look forward to seeing what else they’ve come up with in some of the other bags we picked up because the first one from the list will go quickly despite the fact that it can make quite a few servings.

Want to try these teas, but don’t have a tea infuser or reusable tea bags? D&Tea has got you covered! In addition to the various gaming-themed Rough and Tumber tea thermoses, they also sell a metal tea infuser featuring a d20 design.

  1. I think your photos highlight the need for us to really up our packaging game. While our brand really excels at the branding overall the important part is the packaging of the tea and you having such great photos shows off that weakness.

That said, new packaging is coming soon and we really appreciate such a thorough and honest review. Thank you.
