In Awe of Beyond The Northern Wall: Ice Wine Tea

Ripe grapes in the early winter are left to freeze on the vines as the cold winds of the North rise! This freezing of the grapes forces the sugars and intense flavors into the grape skins. These flavors are infused into the finest black tea we can find resulting in Ice Wine Tea from the lands Beyond the Northern Wall. You will love it and so will the rest of your adventuring party!

Geek Grind Ice Wine Iced and Hot
Beyond the Northern Wall: Ice Wine tea blend tastes great hot or over ice!

Ryan’s Thoughts: The description from Geek Grind hits this nail on the head. I was really impressed not only with the flavor of this tea but with how well it lends itself to a wide group of people and their preferences. What I mean by this is that I kept coming back to this bag to try something new each time. Hot was good, but I felt like the tea shined a bit more once it was iced. Making a slow-brewed sun tea from this blend was a whole new experience unto itself. I’m not a fan of sweetener in my teas, but I can tell this would appeal to those with more of a sweet tooth as well because the blend already has a wonderful mix of flavors as herbal and fruity come together for what I will say is one of my favorite teas by far! Seriously, though, try this as a sun tea.

Krista loves the pyramid style of teabags used for this blend!

Krista’s Thoughts: I’m honestly a bit mad at myself for waiting so long to try this tea! Having been born and raised in the southern United States, I’m a fan of sweet tea (more like half-cut sweet, though, not “diabetes in a glass” sweet as many others back home tend to drink it) and the Ice Wine Tea from Geek Grind was surprisingly sweet enough for me to drink without adding anything to it. From the moment I opened the bag to the very last drop, I was impressed by the smells, colors, and flavors that permeated the air and tingled my taste buds! Though I was expecting a bag of loose leaf tea, I was not at all disappointed to find teabags instead. The use of pyramid teabags is a great decision, in my opinion, as they tend to allow for better infusions and work better for larger mugs (or full pots) of tea. We have had this tea both warm and iced and enjoyed it every time!

We are all very excited that Geek Grind Coffee Company has begun offering several teas as well as expanded its line of coffees to include blends inspired by Jim Henson‘s Labyrinth, Heavy Metal magazine, and Valiant Entertainment!
